The Maks Fabiani Award was given to the project company Elea iC for the professional groundwork for the national spatial plan for upgrading the Gorenjska railway line on the Ljubljana–Kranj/Naklo section – the presentation of solutions in the urban area of the Municipality of Ljubljana. Elea iC carried out the project in consortium with SŽ - projektivno podjetje Ljubljana, Projekt Nova Gorica, and Tiring. Significant contributions were made by our colleagues Arabela Križ Galič, MSc. and Ana Pezdirc from the Department for Spatial and Technical Project Preparation, led by Barbara Likar, MSc.
The jury particularly praised the boldness of the methodological steps, the clear design approach, and the spatial sensitivity of the authors, who employed interdisciplinary collaboration with stakeholders and experts. The project stood out due to its comprehensive approach and active dialogue among various experts in the fields of rail and road transport, communal infrastructure, structures, tunnel construction, architecture, landscape architecture, and water management. The refinement of the final product also relied on informal coordination with local communities and the Engineer DRI as the client's representative.
