COMPREHENSIVE ENERGY RENEWAL OF THE LJUBLJANA UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTRE
The project for the comprehensive energy renewal includes the main hospital building, which was built in 1974, and the old part of the building for diagnostic and therapeutic services, which was built a year later. Both buildings are estimated to be very energy inefficient.
Based on a comprehensive energy concept, under which both buildings will be comprehensively treated as a single building, the renovated buildings will achieve a significantly lower energy consumption, as it will decrease in total by approximately 54% in terms of district heating and 20% in terms of electricity use, which will, as a result, also lower the building maintenance costs.
The comprehensive energy renewal will include the replacement of the joinery and a new façade, as well as the most essential elements of ventilation, heating, cooling, water, and sewerage systems and the modernisation of the lifts.
AFTER THE ENERGY RENEWAL, TOTAL
CONSUMPTION WILL BE REDUCED BY 54% FOR DISTRICT HEATING AND 20% FOR ELECTRICITY.
